Having been a former military wife and having a Father-in-Law who will be retiring from the military at the end of this month, today has a lot of meaning for me. Love and I have many friends who are serving over in Iraq at this time. We worry about them constantly, praying for their safe return. I know that people have many different opinions of the war/wars that we have been involved in over the years. Today, I hope we can all set aside our differences and really take a moment to appreciate the sacrifice our veterans and active duty soldiers make and have made. Were it not for long ago veterans, we wouldn't have our freedom, or our country. We have been in wars over slavery, wars with Japan, wars overseas, but the one thing that has never changed is that we have our freedom and our safety because brave men and women have volunteered to fight for it. If you know anyone who is serving, or has served, in the military, I hope you give them a small piece of your day in thought, in voice, or in prayer on this day of remembrance.
